Who can do without a smartphone these days? Cell phones are getting better and better every year, with more ways to use them, than to just make a call. In fact, despite being a phone, the device is mainly used to surf the Internet, send Whatsapp messages, play games or take photos.

But there are other handy ‘tricks’ you can do with your mobile phone, which you may never have thought of. Here are a few examples.
Make your own ‘cinema’

Are you a huge movie lover and do you regularly watch Netflix on your smartphone? If so, then this is a great solution for an evening. With this ‘lifehack’, you can create your own home theater. The only thing you need for this is an old, large cardboard box. Then cut an opening for your phone from the bottom and make a hole for your neck. When you put your phone in the opening and stick your head through the hole, you’ve created your own dark cinema room and you can enjoy a movie or series at your leisure!
Create a stand

If, for example, you are on the train and want to watch a film or series from your cell phone, it is understandable that you don’t want to walk around with your own ‘home cinema’ set. Another option is to tie an elastic band around two sides of your smartphone and then attach it to a drinking bottle. By doing this, the bottle will serve as a stand. This way, you have your hands free and you can stare at the screen of your phone at your own leisure.
Or use a finished toilet roll tube

Another way to make a phone holder is to cut an inlet into a finished toilet roll tube. If you do this the right way, you have created your own smartphone stand, on which your phone can rest when you watch a video.
Swipe an eraser across your screen

Since smartphones respond to the touch of your fingers, monitors often look greasy and dirty. You can see the fingertips sitting and the dust sticking to them. If you want your display to be spotless and grease-free for a while, you can simply use an eraser and move it back and forth over the display.
Create your own mood light

When you get visitors, but actually don’t have a cozy light in the house, you can easily solve this. Instead of switching on that huge light box on the ceiling, you can use your phone for a cozy atmospheric light. Put your phone down, with the light up and then put a glass – which you’ve filled with water – on top of it.
Use tights as a filter

If you like to take pictures with your phone and you want to make your own filter, you can use an old pair of tights. Cut off the top piece of the tights and tie them around the camera on your phone. When you then take a picture, you will get a kind of sepia-like filter over the picture, causing the colors to fade, creating a kind of brownish-color filter over the pictures.
