Suppose you don’t have any cleaning vinegar, all-purpose cleaner or bleach in the house. However, a cleaning of the toilet is urgently needed. Then take a bottle of Coca Cola from the fridge and use it as a cleaning agent. Because it is slightly acidic, you can use Coca Cola very well to tackle the lime residue in the toilet bowl, without having to spend a lot of money on expensive toilet cleaners!

First pour the Coca-Cola – around the edge – into the toilet bowl. Let the soda rinse over any stains in the pot. For hard-to-reach stains, high up in the pot, soak an old cloth with Coca-Cola and apply it to the stains by hand. You can also use a vaporizer filled with cola, if you prefer not to get your hands dirty. Then let the Coca-Cola soak in for a while.

It is important that you let the drink ‘soak in’ for at least an hour, the longer the acids in the Cola have a chance to remove the stains, the better. For extra cleaning power, you can also pour the Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl at night, before going to sleep. This way it has the whole night to do its work. Then flush the toilet. Because of the acids, the loose lime residue will be flushed away with the toilet water!
